Catchwords appear regularly in the lower margin of each page, in all
                    sections.
The manuscript is a composite of different booklets written around the
end of saec. XVI. The texts are by different hands and new texts regularly begin
in new quires. There are also notable differences in the paper used for
different sections. However, the letters (fols. 360–377) share one quire,
although they are written by two different hands.
The manuscript is in
good condition. There is fraying along the edges and some small dirt and
                    moisture damage.
One column (in some sections with bounding lines ruled with a
hardpoint) with a varying number of lines.
              Several different cursive hands of
              saec.
                  XVI or XVII
. Fols. 1–277 feature either one main hand producing a rather
inexpert and uneven script or two main hands writing in stints of various
lenght. The other texts are each usually written by one hand. Compilation of
            Johannes Magni
’s work, written in humanistic cursive,
                probably by Marcus Henrici Helsingus
, the rector
                of the school in Turku
 from 1595
.Simple pen-drawn majuscules at the beginnings of chapters. Apart from this, no
                decoration.
Cardboard with simple white leather covers, possibly renewed. Shelf-mark ‘E 32’ and
a title-word appear on the spine. Pastedowns of paper.
The manuscript contains several historical texts written during the
end of saec. XVI or at the beginning of saec.
                  XVII
. They were written mostly as independent texts by several
different hands. The latest texts contain reference to the year 1600
.
Many of the historical texts end in the 1580s or 1590s, which provides a terminus ante quem non
 for those parts of the
manuscript. Some of the texts are related to the
diocese of
                  Turku
: the excerpt from Johannes
                  Magni
’s chronicle contains material specially pertaining to Finland,
and was possibly written by Marcus Henrici
                  Helsingius
who served as the rector of the school in
                  Turku
from 1595; also included is a letter by the Finn
                  Johannes Jussoila
and a pamphlet related to the
abolition of certain church ceremonies. Heininen suggests the compilation may
originate from the cathedral chapter in Turku
.The
binding has been renewed but it seems likely that the compilation of the booklets
into one manuscript took place at the time of writing.
On the inner front cover: a struck-through name ‘Johan Gartz(?)’; possibly
                identical with the
            Johann Gartz
 (Johannes Matthiae
                  Gartzius
) (d. 1681) who enrolled in the Åbo akademi in 1644, and held offices in the
                  Turku
Court of Appeals from 1653 to
1680.In the lower margin of the first flyleaf a faded note referring to ‘--- Svederi’ in
                April
1706
has been made. This possibly refers to
                Matthias Sweder
 (Matthias Svederius
) who was the
professor of law in Turku from 1686, left Finland in 1713, and from whose collection
                  Germund Carl Cederhielm
 (1717–1789) acquired
some of his books (see Carlander 2, 493
).On the inner front
cover a pasted coat of arms belonging to Germund Carl Cederhielm, who presided over
the Turku Court of Appeals in 1780–1788. The Cederhielm collections were bequeathed by his son,

Germund Ludwig Cederhielm
, to the
                  Uppsala University Library
 in 1841
.University Library’s shelf-mark ‘E 32’ found on the spine and
inner front cover. The library’s stamp is found on the inner back cover.
