An

of
Nynäs
estate
An inventory of
Nynäs
estate written after the death of
Anna Hansdotter Tott
. The heading on fol. is damaged but mentions
Henrik Klasson (Horn?)
(d. 1595) and bishop
Mikael Agricola
(d. 1557), who probably therefore oversaw the inventory process. Dated May
1549
.
Paper
7 folios.
21cm × 30cm
Foliation in lower right-hand corner.
A single quire of seven folia (possibly a blank leaf cropped before fol. 1).
The outer edges of the folios have been damaged and some parts of the writing is missing. A sharp pattern has been cut in the foot of each page. Heavy conservation work has been carried out on all leaves.
Text in a single column, not ruled; varying number of lines.
A single hand typical of
mid-16th-century
Swedish cameral documents. Brown ink.
No decoration.
XXXXXXX
A well-written inventory of
Nynäs
estate from
1549
. Possibly related to the administration changes that took place there that year (E.g. a copy of a letter assigning
Mats Olsson
as the new bailiff survives from November 1549. See
Stockholm, National Archives, Bielkesamlingen, 02 Adliga ätten Bielke, Nils Pedersson Bielke (†1550), Vol. 3: Godshandlingar 1546–1550 / E 1987, 6a, fol. 2
.).
The inventory is part of a large block of records from the
16th century
pertaining to the estates of
Nynäs
,
Vik
, and
Lahis
, which were managed as a whole.
The financial records of
Nynäs
and related estates came to the Swedish Crown, and later the
Swedish National Archives
, when the possessions and archives of
Hogenskild Bielke
were confiscated following his execution in
1605
(see
Introduction
to these descriptions).
