No decoration.
Limp binding using a medieval parchment fragment from a copy of
Missale Aboense
(
fr 10937
). A paper bifolium has been sewn inside the fragment. This bifolium has some text written on it, in particular on the sides that are not readable (the text is visible through the paper).
A
register
written by a single hand and with content pertaining to the possessions of one man,
Hogenskild Bielke
(1538–1605). The stylistically uniform manuscript was most probably written over a rather short period of time: since some of the copied letters are dated to the 1580s and 1590s and since Hogenskild Bielke died in 1605, the most likely dating is
late 16th or early 17th century
. The medieval parchment wrapper seems to have been attached at the time of writing, and the cartulary is in its original state.
The record probably came to the Swedish Crown, and later the
Swedish National Archives
, when the possessions and archives of
Hogenskild Bielke
were confiscated following his execution in
1605
(see
Introduction
to these descriptions).
Previously part of the “Topographica Finland” collection in the Swedish National Archives. Hausen refers to this signum in FMU (e.g.
FMU 2433
).
