The manuscript is formed of two quires with two slightly different
versions of the same text. They have been bound together in modern times. Modern
flyleaves have been added: there is a bifolium surrounding both manuscripts (=
four flyleaves). Both manuscripts are in decent condition, although there is
considerable staining, fraying along the edges and the leaves have been conserved
and occasionally strengthened in the gutter.
Both manuscripts have one unruled column (A fol. 9r and B fol.
12r: two columns) with a varying number of lines (usually 26–28).
              No decoration.
Modern cardboard binding with modern flyleaves before and after both manuscripts.
On the front cover: modern shelf-mark, the heading ‘Jordeboks- och
hushallsanteckningar af Olof Nilsson Tavast’, and reference to the modern
                edition.
The manuscript contains two sets of accounts and household notes of
Olof
              Nilsson Tawast
 (d. 1460), a Finnish nobleman and judge. The accounts were likely
              written in the mid-1450s
, soon after the division of property between Olof and his
sisters Elin and Karin, which is mentioned in the manuscript to have taken place 29
                September 1453.The
manuscript contains two similar sets of the text, of which version B presents a more
                complete copy.
In the end of both manuscripts, lists of the property of Olof’s
                widow,
            Ingeborg Waldermarsdotter
 (d. after 1485), have been entered.
National Archive mark ‘C.38’ on the front cover. The manuscripts came to the
                Archives from the
              National Library of Sweden
 in the 20th century
. The manuscripts had arrived at the
National Library together with Anna Clementsdotter Bielke
’s (Hogenskild) copybook of
1561. At this time they were in an unsorted order (see note on flyleaf before part
B). The manuscripts may have ended up in the same place through Lahis
 gård, which passed
through the hands of Henrik Bitz’s (d. 1506) widow Anna Tott (d. 1549) to the
              Hogenskild family.Cataloguer
