cardboard. Paper pastedowns.The manuscript contains a fragment of
proverbs
written by the presiding
bishop of Finland, Mikael Agricola
(d. 1557). Only the two last proverbs of a
collection of twenty-six are preserved. They are followed by a Latin
text, which can
be interpreted as an epilogue for the proverbs or as a prologue for another text
intended to follow (Sarajas 1956, 8–9
). The fragment is included in the
collections of of the antiquary
Elias Palmskiöld
(1667–1719), which contain a
various historical materials collected and copied during saec. XVIII
. It is taped to
a section containing various saec. XVIII
notes on Mikael Agricola
. How it came to be
included in the collection is unknown. The whole collection came to Uppsala
University Library
in 1724
