The manuscript is comprised of seven booklets of varying origins. They

the manuscript during 20

.1
A theological compilation manuscript with seven units of different origins
ranging from
saec. XIII to XIV
. Two units
contains short notes in French
(III and IV), indicating a possible
origin in France
, and another two (II and V) were acquired by
a cleric from Turku, Thörnerus Andreae
. His
collection included several manuscripts from Prague. At least these two units,
possibly also others, were carried by Thörnerus to the Birgittine Vadstena Abbey
.Parts II and V at least belonged to
Thörnerus
Andreae
, a priest from the diocese of Turku
, who
entered the Birgittine Vadstena Abbey
in
1407
: ‘liber Monasterii sancte Marie virginis in
watzsteno quem attulit frater Thørnerus andree quondam clericus Aboensis Orate pro
eo’ (fol. 65v
); ‘thørnerus andree possidet istum librum’ (fol.
154r
); ‘si possessoris nomen cognoscere velis / thør tibi primo
medio ne rus sit in ymo’ (fol. 169v
).Part III has an partly
erased ownership mark on fol.
80r
: ‘Liber domini ----‘.Part IV
belonged to a brother
Petrus
: ‘Iste liber est fratris petri de basta [leista(?)]
conventus fontis’ (fol. 83r
).Vadstena Abbey’s shelf-mark is
found on the first flyleaf verso: “I iiii primus in ordine”. The binding is typical
of the abbey for the
first half of saec.
XV
.The manuscript remained in the abbey’s collection after its dissolution and was
probably among those codices taken away in
1619
and donated to Uppsala University
Library in 1621
by King Gustav
Adolf II
.Uppsala University Library
’s shelf-mark ‘C 453’ found on inner
front cover.Cataloguer
