Modern foliation was added in the course of the description in upper
right margin. A previous scholar added foliation to some leaves, but miscalculated
and ended up with the count of 499 leaves for the parchment section.

+ 6Fols. 1, 73, 416 are torn. Lacuna after fols. 24, 140, 181, 237, 266,
294, 306, 320 (possibly a quire missing), 322, 333, 343, 352, 355, 360, 365, 393
(possibly a quire missing), 408, 426, 465, 472, 498. Last flyleaf has been glued
to the inside of the back cover. The parchment is extremely thin and fine. Several
folia have been corroded by the ink or otherwise damaged, possibly partly due to
smoke or fire.
Psalter: two columns 23 lines; breviary: two columns 22–23
lines; both parts ruled in ink. Added section: one column with 13-18
lines.
Main hand: Gothic textualis (
saec.
XIV
) written by a skilled scribe. Several additions or corrections in the
margins and fols. 58–60, mostly in hands of saec. XV
. Additional section in a hand of saec. XV
(2
/ saec. XVI1
Taitto (1998, 8)
suggests the
middle of saec. XV, but a somewhat later date fits better palaeographically).Alternating initials in red and blue with fleuronné-decoration in the opposing
colour. Smaller, simple lombardic initials in red and blue. Rubrics in red.
A rebound full leather binding on boards with blind-stamped decoration. Two
hook-clasps, decorated with engravings, one of which is missing; attached to the
back cover with rosettes; catches on the edge of the front cover.
The manuscript has two sections: the main section (fols. 1–498) contains a
saec. XIV
breviary
; the added section contains additional offices (fol. 499–506).
Since the breviary contains the Feast of St Thomas Aquinas
, the manuscript must
postdate his canonisation in 1333
. St Francis
is included in the litany, but for
some reason left out of the sanctorale and mentioned only in a 15th-century
addition
on fol. 454v
. The rest of the sanctorale is of little help in determining the origin
or date of the manuscript. There are no local saints included in either section. The
high quality of the parchment, script and decoration seem to point towards Western
Europe
, perhaps France
, as the place of origin. In the

The manuscript is still kept in the Church Archives.
