.The outermost leaves of the
manuscript have been repaired as most of the original paper in that position has
been destroyed. Some of the letters lack some text due to missing
leaves.
One column, no ruling; number of lines varies.
Littera Gothica Cursiva; written mainly by two scribes. A few later additions made
by two further scribes. One of the scribes (Hand A) of the cartulary has been
identified as
Paulus Scheel
(1465–1516), who worked as secretary to the bishop. No decoration.
Modern binding of cardboard with a
15th-century
parchment fragment covering the spine and small parts of the front and back covers. The fragment has presumably come over from the original binding. The cartulary was mainly copied during the term of office of Bishop Magnus Nicolai, between 1489 and 1500. The fair-copied letters and documents reflect upon current political events and decisions. The last entry was made after the death of Bishop Magnus, around 1500.
The cartulary was added to the collections of the
Swedish National Archives
during the 1640s
by the archivist, Jonas Håkansson Rhezelius (see fol. ).Cataloguer
