Five quires of six bifolia each. The second contains a slip numbered 18
½.
Text in a single column, not ruled.
Several hands typical of
mid-16th-century
Swedish cameral records.No decoration.
Currently not bound, but sewing holes are visible. The quires were previously bound
to a parchment wrapper now preserved in a separate archival sleeve. The parchment
leaf came from a
15th-cent.
missale
(32 x 45 (21 x 31,5), two columns with 29 lines of text)
which provided wrappers for a number of other accounts (see Stockholm, National Archives, Fr 10942
).The manuscript is a well written register of
inventories
concerning the
landed estates of Anna Clemetsdotter Hogenskild
in Finland. These possessions
included the estates of Nynäs
, Vik
, Kyllelä
, and
Lahis
and large number of tenant
farms pertaining to these estates. This register is part of a large group of
financial documents surviving from these estates. The manuscript was in
continual use over the indicated time period as shown by the chronological order of
the registers, the changing hands, blank folios left between sections, and a clear
change in the content of the documents towards the end.
The financial records of
Nynäs
and related estates came to the Swedish Crown, and
later the Swedish National Archives
, when the possessions and
archives of Hogenskild Bielke
were confiscated
following his execution in 1605
(see Introduction
to these descriptions).Cataloguer
