                    Lower half of fol. 145 has been cut out. Internal references made to other texts
                    found in the manuscript suggest that the original organisation of the texts may
                    have been different (<bibl>Noreen – Grape 1917, 87</bibl>).</p>

          <history>
            <origin><p>The manuscript contains a collection of (mostly) historical texts written by
                two scribes collaborating on a few of the texts. A few other hands have added
                further historical notes on the empty pages. The year <date>1583</date> is the last
                one to appear in these notes. However, since it appears in the additions written
                over a longer period of time, it should not be considered as a terminus ante quam
                for the manuscript as a whole.</p><p>The manuscript contains several notes referring
                to <origPlace>Finland</origPlace>, which indicate it originated there. The same
                conclusion can be made based on the earliest identifiable owner of manuscript:
                  <persName role="owner">Jöns Persson till Salmis</persName>, who acted as a judge
                in <placeName type="provenance">Vehmaa</placeName> in 1567.</p></origin>

                will den 23 Maey 1610’.</p><p>In <date type="acquisition">1643</date> the manuscript
                belonged to a ‘Lars Nillszon Roborin’ (fol. <locus>70v</locus>). He is probably
                identical with <persName role="owner">Laur. Nicolai Roborinus</persName> who was
                entered in the matrikel of the <placeName>Åbo akademi</placeName> in
                  <date>1641</date>. The same hand enters a few notes on fols. <locus>7r</locus> and
                  <locus>72r</locus>.</p><p>Fol. <locus>1r</locus>: an ownership marking by
                  <persName role="owner">Ad. Ludv. Stierneld</persName> (1755–1835) who was a lagman
                in Närke: ‘Detta ms. som vari min far fars har jag kjöpt på en auction i Stockholm
                1785, ibland de flere v: Dalins Handskrifter.’ According to the note, the manuscript
                had belonged to <persName role="owner">Lars Stierneld</persName> (1669–1721). By
                  <date type="acquisition" from="1740" to="1760">mid saec. XVIII</date> the
                manuscript had come into the hands of <persName role="owner">Jacob Röding</persName>
                  (<hi rend="italic">c. </hi>1725–1782) whose book collection was sold in <date
                  type="acquisition">1785</date> (this manuscript is no. 22 in the catalogue). The
                    manuscript was purchased by the above-mentioned <persName role="owner">Ad. Ludv. Stierneld</persName> who collected
                manuscripts concerning the history of Scandinavia. He bequeathed his manuscripts to
                the <orgName>University Library of Uppsala</orgName>, which received the collection in <date
                  type="acquisition">1858</date>. (<bibl>Noreen – Grape 1917, 84–85</bibl>).</p>
