 Paper i + 86 pages (43 folios). 15,5 20,5 Text area varies. Pagination in ink in the upper margin. i + IV16(8) + 1138(19) + V58(29) + II66(33) + 268(35) + IV86(43) XXXXX One unnumbered flyleaf. The two outermost leaves (fols. 1 and 8) of the first quire are loose singletons. Fols. 9–19 are singletons, possibly originating from a quinion and one loose leaf (there is no loss of text to suggest a missing leaf). Fols. 20–29 form a gathering of bifolia that lack the binding string. Fols. 34 and 35 are singletons. A folded flyeaf and fols. 1, 8–19, 34–35 are loose.

The manuscript is in decent condition. The binding has loosened in several places and many leaves are now singletons. There is fraying along the edges and some staining, but no loss of text.

 One unruled column with c. 20 lines (fols. 1–53).

One main hand of saec. XVI using a different script for Latin (a humanistic cursive) and Swedish (a regular cursive).

One additional hand writing on p. 69, another on pp. 71–81, a third on pp. 81–83, and a fourth on pp. 84–85.

No decoration.

Several quires tacketed with string and other loose singletons placed within covers made of thick modern paper. These are held by cardboard covers. On the paper covers is the heading ‘En Aff Copiall på Gamble Konungars Breff’, and a note with the shelf-mark of the National Library of Sweden.

The manuscript contains royal letters, documents relating to the cathedral of Turku and other annalistic notes. An entry on the fire in Turku in 1593 is the latest dated entry (p. 12). This provides a tentative tempus post quem non for the main part of the manuscript, which is written by a single hand. Special interest is shown in ecclesiastical matters suggest that the scribe was a cleric.

The texts found on pp. 10–53 are, apart from some small verbal differences, also found in another manuscript (Uppsala, University Library, K 12a). Klockars (1960, 16–17) argues that this section of the manuscript is based on a common source, a copybook written around the end of saec. XV (the youngest shared document is dated to 1457). That the source is a lost copybook instead one of the surviving registries is suggested by some different readings and additions found in this manuscript and K 12a. There is also one document not found in other sources.

The later history of the manuscript is not known. National Library’s shelf-mark ‘A 942’.
