Inventory of Nynäs estate
An
inventory taken on 23 July
1577 at Nynäs estate. The description on folio 1
states that Erik Balk has received the inventory from Per Andersson who was bailiff. Also present were Fru
Kerstin till Åminne and three parsons: Staffan of
Nousis, Jören of Reso, and Olof of
Lemu. The inventory is divided to eleven chapters, each detailing
specific types of items ranging from grain to smith’s tools. Fols.

A clear and well-written
inventory of
Nynäs estate from 1577. Several
persons of note are identified in the opening chapter: Erik
Balk, Per Andersson (bailiff), and
Kerstin Jacobsdotter Krumme, daughter of Anna
Clemetsdotter Hogelskild. Three parsons were also present:
Stephanus Henrici of Nousis,
Georgius Michaelis of Reso, and

The inventory is part of a large block of records from the 16th century pertaining to the estates of
Nynäs, Vik, and
Lahis, which were managed as a whole.
The financial records of Nynäs and related estates came to the Swedish Crown, and
later the Swedish National Archives, when the possessions and
archives of Hogenskild Bielke were confiscated
following his execution in 1605 (see Introduction to these descriptions).
