<div class="tei-tag-origin"><div class="tei-tag-p">The manuscript contains liturgical songs in <div class="tei-tag-lang">Swedish</div> and
<div class="tei-tag-lang">Finnish</div>. It was written in <div class="tei-tag-origDate">1622</div>, in all
likelihood by <div data-role="scribe" class="tei-tag-persName">Simon Sigfridsson Forsskåll</div> who has left his initials in the
manuscript and is also mentioned in the fragments recovered from the covers.
Forsskåll was a priest in <div class="tei-tag-origPlace">Sauvo</div> from 1593 to 1629.</div></div>
<div class="tei-tag-provenance">
<div class="tei-tag-p">The covers contained fragments of private correspondence, which have been removed
and are now stored separately in the same folder. They stem mostly from <div data-from="1600" data-to="1699" class="tei-tag-date">saec. XVII</div>.
They contain, for example, circular letters of saec. XVI to the clergy, a list of
persons in different parishes and a fragment mentioning 'Sigfrid Forskåll' and
‘Kyrkionnes Book Liber Saguensis’. This, along with the initials found in the
manuscript, renders it likely that the manuscript was written and owned by the
priest of <div data-type="provenance" class="tei-tag-placeName">Sauvo</div> church, <div data-role="owner" class="tei-tag-persName">Simon Sigfridsson Forsskål</div>, and/or by his son <div data-role="owner" class="tei-tag-persName">Sigfrid
Simonsson Forsskåll</div> (d. <div data-rend="italic" class="tei-tag-hi">c. </div>1643).</div>

<div class="tei-tag-p">The manuscript later came into the possession of the <div data-role="owner" class="tei-tag-persName">Wallenius</div> family. At some
point it was passed to the <div class="tei-tag-orgName">Finnish Society of Church History</div>,
which has deposited its archives in the <div class="tei-tag-orgName">National Archives of
Finland</div>.</div>

<div class="tei-tag-origin"><div class="tei-tag-p">The manuscript is part of a Latin <div class="tei-tag-title">antiphonary</div>, probably written in the <div data-from="1450" data-to="1549" class="tei-tag-origDate">second
half of saec. XV or first half of saec. XVI</div>. The presence of a sequence for St <div data-role="saint" class="tei-tag-persName">Olav</div>
suggest a Nordic origin. The manuscript has lost several leaves and some of the
surviving ones have been placed in an incorrect order.</div></div>

<div class="tei-tag-p">The manuscript stems from the collections of the <div class="tei-tag-orgName">Finnish Society of Church History</div>, which have been deposited at the <div class="tei-tag-orgName">National Archives of Finland</div>.
The envelope in which it is kept contains a slip with the note that it was a
donation in <div data-type="acquisition" class="tei-tag-date">1909</div> that had perhaps been made by the Finnish scholar and antiquary,
<div data-role="owner" class="tei-tag-persName">Eeli Granit-Ilmoniemi</div> (1866–1945).</div>
